Strike Strike Strike!

Strike Strike Strike!
Waves… here they come
Waves over everyone
Crashing like chalk cliffs falling
Leaving no one behind… nothing but nothing
Strike strike strike
It’s going to ruin your holiday
Strike strike strike
And it’s too late to hide
A boil-in-a-bag planet
Brings both the refugees and bikinis
While I suck on my lollipop
Shield my eyes and apply sunblock
It’s like the weather is set on permanent chorus
All guns blazing – if not glorious
Trumpeting denial as a small victory
Maybe put our fingers in our ears and it’ll go away
Snowstorms like an avalanche of weddings
No aid forthcoming, darling
Rejoice! The End of Days
Blame the hurricane on the gays
As if nature is just something to overcome
Ah - Seasons are too long!
The wind blowing café chairs in front of buses
And that’s just the start
What’s this strange weather?
…A change in temperature…
Strike strike strike!

DETERMINED ZOMBIE
Damn, you’re drunk again
And I don’t know what to do
You colour my teardrops
As much as you glitter my horses
And I’ll know I’ll survive without you
But that’s not where I want to go
You could bury me so I don’t feel it
And say God told me to!
Oh I’ll rise up and shamble around for you
Because that’s me.
But I still won’t be done
When are you going to learn
That I’ve got a lot else to do
Than to just look out for you?
When are you going to learn?
Oh I’ll rise up and shamble around for you
Because that’s me.

Wasteland Dazzlewolves

WASTELAND DAZZLEWOLVES
Sunset on corrugated rooftops
It’s a life of slim chances here, I say
Just going up there could get you killed
But it’s a highwire home… anyway.
We can scrounge when we need to
Scrape by when we need to
How can the world be so wrong
When the sun feels so good on my skin?
I don’t have spice & nice, you know
Like it matters if I was marshmellow
If I make it to tomorrow
I’m gonna party like I won’t live ‘til the weekend.
I’m looking over the rooftops:
Put a shitload of multicoloured boxes on the hillside
And it looks a lot like home.
The smell of gunmetal and cheesebread
And a bang on a drum creates a rhythm
To the howl in my head.
I’m as cramped as those houses
and sometimes as high as those kites
Looking at those mountains up there.
We can scrounge when we need to
Scrape by when we need to
How can the world be so wrong
When the sun feels so good on my skin?

My FIlm Noir Life
My film noir life is full of shadows. The shadows are full of strangers. The strangers wear either black coats and knives or widow dresses and lipstick... Which will be more lethal or fatal to me?

JUST ANOTHER REQUIEM
Hawk goes to the top of the sky,
Hangs around a while and says “I
Am getting hungry.” He starts to get angry.
He looses his cool.
Eventually has to come down to the tree.
Child goes to the top of the class,
Hangs around for commendation.
Pretty soons gets hungry, starts to get angry.
Looses cool.
So they go back and look and the text books.
Ape goes to the back of the cage,
Hangs from the bars; wears a baseball cap,
Says, “This isn’t where I came from.”
Pretty soons gets hungry, starts to get angry,
Looses his grip,
Breaks out of the cage, goes back to the tree.
Last man on Earth goes to the top of the hill:
Looks down on the ruins, wears a baseball cap,
Says, “That’s where I come from,
And pretty soon, I’m going to be hungry...”
